The Macho Red Preview .

Hey You..yes you, your country needs you! This weekend your mission, should you accept it (and you better!) is to show up at the battle ground, the RFUEA from 1pm preferably in red and get behind the Kenya teams as they take on the enemy Uganda in the return leg of the Elgon Cup. Your weapons will be your voice and frothy waters as motivation to the first weapon. The said waters shall be in plenty by the battle field..I might as well end this post here right hehe..

Before we get to that game, Impala ended their Kenya Cup season with a 21 ups  score against Homeboyz on Thursday, yaani walidraw 21-21. This result sees Impala remain 6th on 43 points while the Dj's get back into 8th tied with Machine on 30 points  but with a better aggregate score. In other Kenya Cup news, Quins are set to finally win the Kenya cup on Saturday when they play Kisumu at the St. Marys School Nairobi from noon. Here's how the table looks like :

The sevens squad to do duty in the Glasgow and London legs was named earlier in the day. As I had mentioned earlier Collins 'choo choo train' Injera and Oscar Ouma (we need to get him a nick name) will miss out due to academic commitments. Captain Sidney Ashioya and the most capped Kenya sevens player Lavin Asego come back into the foray with Victor Opong Mike Wanjala and Mike Agevi, as Mwamba's Oriwo will be making his debut. Here is the full line up :

1. S. Ashioya
2 . L. Asego

To the agenda of the weekend, as always ladies first..the squad will be without captain Aberdeen Shikoyi who suffered a spinal injury in Kampala and is currently recupirating at the Nairobi Hospital. The warembo should take this as extra motivation if they needed any, to win it for their captain. I am pretty confident that the ladies will be visiting their captain with the trophy on Sunday. Doris Silantoi  slots in for her first cap to replace Aberdeen in the only change, Doreen Remour will lead out the team as captain on the day.

Men's coach Tank Otieno has made a few changes to the squad that travelled to Kampala for the first leg. The experienced Mutai duo of Scrum half Peter 'Matricks' Mutai and Tony Mutai comes in, with Quins Centre Dennis Muhanji at 13, and  Strathmore's Tony Onyango starting at 11. In what has been termed as the 'Macho red' match, the hosts will have no room for error as they look to cover the 14 point gap enroute to the trophy. Tank mentioned that they look to make up these points in the first 20 minutes, this will be a crucial period in the match and we must not concede lest we make it hard on ourselves. Eden Agero will start at 10 with Adimo dropping to the bench, Tony Mutai also will be on the bench with the only change to the starting 15 being Peter Mutai at 9, Tony Onyango who by the way will be earning his first cap in the I5's at 11 and Muhanji at 13.

The full squad:
22. Kelvin Otieno Omiyo (Homeboyz)
21. Isaac Adimo (Quins)

We will have to starve the sebbos of that ball, and close down our wings especially the Kimono one, if we are to win this match, I guess that is why Tony steps in. Eden and Mutai should as well be tied together till it is game time so as they sync as the understanding between the two will be vital. I am sure that the lads also worked on the line outs, with those tweaks and our fowards operating like they did in the second half in Uganda, I see no reason for us not to lift the sixth Elgon cup in a row.

The rest will be left to you and me, hiyo jina Macho Red haikua ya decoration. Show up kesho at the RFUEA from 1 pm in red (Not a soccer jersey please utakaa fala solo) and let's get behind the teams..remember your country needs you.

To the Sebbos AND Nyabos  that will be travelling to New York, (that is what they call Nairobi)...welcome to The City, it will surely be a short visit as you guys will be huddled up in the Kampala Coaches that brought you here by 6pm on your way back to the hills. Bye...

P.S Please start your Journeys early the traffic will most definately be mad kesho. And to the ladies..hii hapana blankets and wine, it will probably rain and thus muddy so dress like you know where you are going. It's just advice..but usivae overall useme ati Poghie alisema!!

With that ladies and gentlemen.....

KWISHA!!!
